The Magical World of Stonewylde
Kit Berry is the author of five books in the Stonewylde Series, written for young adults but appeals to all ages. Kit will tell us about her own love of writing and of connecting our soul with Nature, giving us a glimpse into the beautiful, magical world of Stonewylde.
Set in a remote location in Dorset, Stonewylde is hidden away behind high walls and iron gates, where many places are sacred. There is a circle of standing stones and an ancient village green, a stately home and a quarry where blood has been spilled far too often. Ruled by the charismatic Magus, Stonewylde is dark in places, but ultimately uplifting. Its story draws us into a world where people respect the land and the unseen forces that govern our lives.
At Stonewylde the community honour the Old Ways, marking the changing seasons as the Wheel of the Year turns. As Magus explains the earth magic to Sylvie, when she visits the Stone Circle at Beltane: It’s the heart of Stonewylde, the place where the earth energy is strongest. Not because the Stone Circle’s there, of course. The magic came first. The circle was built by our ancestors to mark the place where the Earth Magic could be channelled.
There will be time for questions and book signings following Kit’s talk, when our consciousness will be taken beyond everyday reality. An evening not to be missed!
